Services
Your contribution will enable the foundation to provide the following
services:
Annual Burn Camp for Young Burn Survivors
The Kelvin Robinson foundation will host young burn survivors for one
week of summer camp. Children between the ages of six to 18 will attend the
camp. Doctors, nurses, medical therapists, adult burn survivors and
professional fire fighters will donate their time as counselors. Campers
come from all areas within New York City to experience a one week of joy,
safety and freedom. The Foundation covers the camper's travel and
accommodation, and the cost of co-coordinating and operating the camp. There
is no fee for the campers.
Fire Prevention Awareness Campaign
By targeting children in the high-risk group of ages six to twelve, the
program is designed to teach kids to be responsible for their own safety,
and make their families aware of potentially harmful situations. Public and
private elementary schools within the five boroughs are sent resource
packages containing teaching tips, activity sheets and fire awareness
information.
This Web Site
The Kelvin Robinson Foundation website here at
www.kelvinrobinsonfoundation.org offers an online source of
information to fire victims and their families, fire fighters, media,
healthcare and education professionals. The goal of the web site is to
educate, empower and inform the public about fire safety with a list of
available resources on what to do after a fire.
